Robot or cobot?

When you configure your MaxQ Repair or MaxQ 3D Print, you can choose between various robots and cobots. Do you want to know why you should choose a robot or a cobot for your WAAM system? We are happy to explain.

Cobot: Mobility, collaboration and low investment

First and foremost, cobots like the FANUC CRX-10iA and TECHMAN TM12 are suited for repairing or 3D printing smaller components with a build volume of 800 mm x 400 mm x 300 mm. The name itself gives it away: a cobot is designed to collaborate seamlessly alongside a human operator. It’s an ideal first step to experience what Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) can do for your business. Cobots are more mobile, have a smaller footprint, and require a lower investment than robot systems, making them easier to integrate into various workspaces. You can combine cobots with your own weld source to quickly get started. The weld sources that can be integrated with MaxQ include top brands like Fronius, Miller, and Lincoln Electric.
